The Weather Network

The Weather Network is the App Store and Google Play app for smartphones that uses hyper-local and real-time forecasts, public safety notifications, and weather warnings to offer a personalized weather experience. With this app, you can receive accurate forecast within a one-kilometer radius whether you’re at a particular place or in transit. Here’s the full review of the forecast tool.

Interface

One of the most attractive attributes of this app for all Android devices and iOS gadgets is its simple design and fascinating user interface that makes it easy for me to get my weather notifications when it really matters. The imagery used is clear, and you don’t have to open the app for updates as you can incorporate them on the home screen through the settings. Additionally, the interface is quite straightforward, and you can easily look through the forecasts for different cities. The blue theme is also a plus.

On design and interface, I award a score of 10/10.

Features

The iOS and Google Android app is accurate and easy to use. With unlimited access to in-depth weather videos and news, I’ll always have the weather forecast at my fingertips. What’s more, I’m always ahead with storms since I receive push notifications on my Android mobile device that alert me in case a storm is approaching any of my saved locations. Thanks to this app, I can get detailed forecasts such as the current observations, hourly, short-term (36 hours) and long-term forecasts (14 days).

The latest version also comes with fixes for some of the pesky bugs while still making it easier for me to check pollen reports, UV, and the air quality. To add to the update, you can also go for the in-app purchase ‘Premium’ which goes for $2.99. With this purchase, you’ll be able to enjoy seamless weather forecasts without experiencing the annoying ads.

The app works with gadgets above iOS 9.0, which include the iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone. The Android version of the Android app varies with the device.

Here, the app gets a straight 10/10.

Performance

The things I find fascinating about The Weather Network app are the straightforward controls, simple design, and the convenient interface. What’s more, the application functions seamlessly on my device without any lags. Also, the app has never crashed on me.

The ease of use section deserves a 10/10.

The Verdict

The Weather Network has more to offer when it comes to convenience and additional features. One of the most significant contrasts with other similar applications is the Follow Me feature. Additionally, the app is compatible with both iOS and Android, so users across both platforms can keep up with the weather updates. I believe this leading app is a must-have and I would recommend it.

Pros

  • Severe weather warnings
  • Multiple map layers
  • Follow Me function.

Cons

  • The ads can be annoying
  • The in-app purchase is relatively costly
  • It charges a subscription fee for non-US users.
