Annual Expansions Confirmed for Diablo 4 by Blizzard

In a recent interview, Diablo 4's general manager, Rod Fergusson, confirmed that the game will receive annual expansions alongside its seasonal content and updates. He stated that the team already has "years and years" of plans for the game, with storylines that extend far into the future.

The decision to implement regular substantial updates was due to the 11-year gap between Diablo 3 and Diablo 4, which left many players feeling neglected. As part of this ongoing support, Diablo 4's second season, entitled Season of Blood, was recently announced and will feature new characters, powers, questlines and bosses. 
If Blizzard can manage to maintain its planned schedule of one large annual expansion and four seasonal updates, Diablo 4's active players will have plenty of fresh content to explore in the future.
