Emulator Logo Found in Steam Deck Video
In early October, Valve released a new promotional video for the Steam Deck production update. Some especially attentive viewers noticed that the logo of the popular Nintendo Switch emulator appeared for a split second in the video. It is not known if this is a mistake or an intentional cheeky reference, but this moment has caused a lot of discussion on the Internet.
Although the video was about the fact that players can now purchase the device faster, many did not notice one interesting detail. It is so subtle that you can easily miss it by simply blinking. On social media, after the release of Valve's video, users started posting screenshots showing an app logo called 'Yuzu' among other games such as Tunic, Hades, and Vampire Survivors. You can see it by stopping the video at 1:40. This program is familiar to those who have purchased Steam Deck for 'unusual download' of official games.
Some users have even spotted the Xbox logo. According to them, it was located in the lower left corner. However, most likely, there was just an icon that showed the synchronization of the Steam Deck and the Xbox controller.
The exact reasons for the reference to emulation are unknown. Perhaps, it hints at the players’ preferences while using the Steam Deck. Although the video does not show direct interaction or guidance on using such an application to emulate Switch games on a device, it looks cheeky. On the other hand, reasons for blocking are not enough.
Let's see where this leads, as Nintendo has been known to fight piracy and emulation for a long time. Nintendo actively discourages the distribution of alternative versions of its games and takes action against content that tells how to emulate the company's games on Steam Deck.
Does it seem to you that this is a gross mistake, or is it still a reference?
