Hollywood's Most Unwanted: The 45th Razzie Awards Highlight Cinematic Misfires of the Year

The annual event honoring the year's least impressive films has concluded, revealing the unfortunate favorites among cinematic flops. The 45th Razzies brought to light the works that failed to leave a positive mark in the previous year, and several films faced the brunt of the critics' disdain. Let’s examine in greater detail the outcomes of this unique celebration.

Leading the unfortunate charge was Madame Web, a film that failed to impress both audiences and critics alike, featuring Dakota Johnson in the lead role. This box office misstep walked away with three awards, distinguishing itself with titles like Worst Picture and Worst Actress for Johnson. Additionally, it earned the accolade for Worst Screenplay, attributed to the writing team of Matt Sazama, Burk Claire Parker Sharples and S.J. Clarkson.

Close on its heels, three films shared the spotlight with two awards each: Joker: Folie à Deux, Megalopolis, and Unfrosted. Todd Phillips' much-anticipated sequel took home the titles for Worst Screen Combo due to the pairing of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, as well as the dubious honor of Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel.

Meanwhile, Francis Ford Coppola's distinctive endeavor claimed the titles of Worst Director and Worst Supporting Actor, with Jon Voigt receiving recognition for his role in the film, also earning him a mention for his work in Reagan, Shadow Land, and Strangers.

On the other hand, Unfrosted, which featured Jerry Seinfeld, received the awards for Worst Actor (Seinfeld) and the category of Worst Supporting Actress for Amy Schumer's performance.

The only other singular honor was awarded to Pamela Anderson for her performance in The Last Showgirl, where she was celebrated with the Razzie Redeemer, an accolade acknowledging her noteworthy performance in the film, leading to her acquisition of the Razzie halo.
