New Final Fantasy and Zelda Entries Among the Most Wanted. Anyone Surprised?

Which games do you anticipate the most? Probably there are some upcoming installments from already iconic series, and does it get more iconic than Zelda or Final Fantasy? It's not surprising to find Final Fantasy XVI and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ranked highly on Famitsu’s Most Wanted list.
 
Famitsu magazines published in Japan are among the most prominent of those writing on video games. Not only do these magazines have monthly and weekly issues; there are also numerous special ones on every console in use, and also those printed on special occasions. No wonder Famitsu is a household name in the gaming-related press.
 
These upcoming titles are put together for a reason. Not only because both of them are scheduled for some date in the middle of 2023. Both of them are parts of decades-long adventure franchises, with impressive storylines, volumes of lore, and generations of fans. Both upcoming games will showcase cutting-edge visuals (even despite the latter being a Nintendo Switch exclusive, which doesn’t deliver truly up-to-date picture).
 
With Final Fantasy 16 coming second on the Famitsu charts and Tears of the Kingdom third, the first place is occupied by another iconic Japanese franchise: Pokémon. The upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Violet game for Switch is the most anticipated. FF 16 and TOTK, though, hold quite close to its 784 votes, gaining (respectively) 758 and 747 votes. And if the numbers don’t impress you much, we remind you that it was conducted among Famitsu on-paper readers only.
 
Both these games are already present in the mass media. Trailers, leaks, guesses, and stuff about these two come in volumes. And you can also participate in this media coverage.
