Nintendo Switch Online Gives Away New Pokémon-Related Icons and More

Among the most anticipated games, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet topped the list right until its very release that happened on November 18. For everyone to know it’s Pokémon time again, Nintendo gives away some freebies to all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. It includes some Pokémon-themed icons.
 
If you are on NSO, you’ll be able to grab these icons until December 25. To see the icons you can get, enter the “Missions & Rewards” section. To get these icons, you will need Platinum Points you earn by completing missions in games across the platform. These missions are not always hard, sometimes being purely mechanical. On the other hand, Platinum Points can be earned without extra payments except your subscription costs.
 
How many icons are there? So far, five of them are available. They feature the new starter Pokémon from the new games. Three icons were added in the first wave, on November 18, and two more on November 24. Each week, a new wave will join in, letting you earn more Pokémon-themed rewards.
 
It’s quite a massive promotional step, given that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are already becoming the next BIG Pokémon title, something the franchise needed. Despite critics’ average reviews, the games sell extremely well and are massively played. No wonder Nintendo reminds of it everywhere and makes its launch a grand event across the platform, even to those not planning to buy it.
 
Each new icon will feature something new Pokémon-related. And though it doesn’t have to be something exclusive to Scarlet & Violet (like the aforementioned Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly), this will be a treat to any fan of the franchise.
